Crewsing Thru Life

Five Years From Now, I Will Be…

The father of two or three beautiful children.
Being a dad has been a dream of mine for a very long time.  I have always had the calling to be a dad and am working very hard to ensure I am prepared to give my children the best opportunities to succeed.  I’ve been preparing to have kids since I met my wife and we are financially and mentally ready. My wife and I both love children.  My wife loves babies and I think toddlers are so much fun (most of the time).  Having children is my most important five-year goal.

Buying a plane ticket to watch my niece graduate high school.
My oldest niece is cancer free and is preparing to go to a school of arts and begin her dream of becoming famous.  The next niece in age order (only a year younger) is getting ready to graduate high school and begin a bachelors of science and start her career as a nurse or apply to medical school.  While their dreams may differ from my ideas for them, I hope whatever they do, they are happy and successful.

A Second Lieutenant of Marines and starting my journey as a Marine Corps Officer.
The five years leading up to this have been an enjoyment. Starting college at 25 put me a bit behind the traditional timeline, but in a position to control my future for the rest of my life. I have worked hard at school in order to prepare myself for the future outside of the Marine Corps when that time comes.  Now a fresh 30 year old, I am wiser than I was as an enlisted Marine and ready to make a larger impact on my beloved Corps.  It may have taken me until 28 or 29 to get my college degree, but nevertheless, I did it!  We will just say that I took the scenic route to graduate.  Maybe I just took a gap year or seven.

Living debt free.
After paying off the debt we have from our wedding and our two vehicles, Emma and I are enjoying financial freedom. We are saving more and donating what we can to help others less fortunate. While we are living well within our means, we are happy to do things that we enjoy, like traveling, going to the shooting range, and bowling on Sundays.

If you have long-term goals or have some advice on mine, I would love to hear about it! Drop a comment below!
